My Bedroom Has Four Walls

My bedroom has four walls.
All of them are pink.
Two of them sport windows,
with cartoon butterflies spreading their wings.

On my other wall I have a mirror,
a poster, and some brown/pink sticker dots.
I've woven ribbons into the holes on the frame, of that reflective glass.
My first pair of pointe shoes--such lovely memories and thoughts.

Behind my bedroom door I have pencil markings,
from when I would measure height,
and hope really hard that I hadn't grown,
So I could be play the part I wanted in the ballet this time.

My bed sits against the wall,
And beside it sits my ambitiously growing pile of books.
Almost every night I lay there with my flashlight,
Trying to imagine how a certain fictional character looks.

There is much within these walls.
Just me, myself, and I.
It's my comfort zone.
The place where I can be me--without being shy.

My bedroom has four walls.
It holds me in my place.
Someday I hope to break free,
And expand into a person of grace.

But I guess my mind had a mind of its own.

Six Word Stories [#5]

Even the cat's searching for something.

"I like you. I care about you."

"...really?"

"Really."

* * *

Have you ever felt as though you were drowning within your own world? The other's around you are passing by while you collapse into yourself, your soul caving in as you lose bits of you in the environment. Your thoughts and opinions aren't your own anymore. You can't feel the way you want to feel because you might get judged. You can't look the way you want to look because it's not right, or even "in style". You're afraid of what someone random stranger will think of you.

And all the while your conscience is screaming; Hey, look at me. I exist. This is the real me!

The world around us is so forceful that it can take our own minds and (almost) allow us to believe we should be what society wants us to be. But have you ever just stopped and thought about what society really is? Some people say it's those who think they are above us. Some say it is us. We are doing this to ourselves. But I think that it may be both. The "higher officials" have ingrained this unholy image within our minds that we willingly take in, and try to apply to ourselves. The first thing that comes to mind, as an example, would be bodily image. Men are supposed to look "buff". Women are supposed to look like walking toothpicks.

I sometimes find myself slipping into society's grip. I don't eat breakfast because more food, more weight, right? I apply make-up before going out because it's the proper thing to do, is it not? Apply all this stuff to your face, so that you can allow your brain (and the other beings around you) to submit to calling you beautiful. And if you take that chance of not wearing make-up, you could be ridiculed--by no one but yourself, mind you. (You are the most beautiful you there is.)

I don't want me to disappear anymore. I just want to be able to walk around with bags under my eyes and wind blowing my hair. I want to be able to walk with my chin held high, my shoulders back, and confidence in my stride. I want to be able to look people in the eye without worrying what they'll think of me.

But...I'm afraid.

How do you see yourself?

What is your image?

Are you afraid?

Latest Obsession: Marina and the Diamonds

Marina and the Diamonds #lyrics #marina #marinaandthediamonds made using fantasia painter (lyrics from Oh No by Marina and the Diamonds)

Marina and the Diamonds.jpg
Marina Lambrini Diamandis (born 10 October 1985), better known by her stage name Marina and the Diamonds, is a Welsh singer-songwriter and musician. She rose to fame after reaching number two on the BBC Sound of 2010 poll list, coming second to Ellie Goulding. After releasing one private EP, Diamandis released her second extended play, The Crown Jewels EP, with help from Neon Gold Records, in 2009. Now signed to 679 Recordings, she released her debut full length studio album, The Family Jewels, followed by her third extended play, The American Jewels EP, in 2010. In 2011, Diamandis announced that she was working on her second album, Electra Heart, which was released in April 2012 and topped the charts in the UK and Ireland.

Diamandis' musical style ranges from keyboard-based ballads to more up-tempo new wave-style songs with full band backing. Her stage name consists of Diamandis' first name and the translation of her surname, which means "Diamonds" in Greek. "The Diamonds" are not her backing band, but her fans.

Marina's songs are a bit...wacky, weird, and sometimes inappropriate but they all have a story to tell. They all hit me in the head, getting me to think. I believe in every song she is giving away a part of herself, telling us who she is, or how she feels about something. Her words are deep. They flow with a certain amount of tranquility.

Marina's song sometimes explain my life (like at the moment, her song "Lies" totally explains me right now).

Thank you Marina, for sharing your talents with me. And, in a way, understanding how I feel.

"You're never gonna love me, so what's the use?
What's the point in playing a game you're gonna lose?"

(Bitter) Feelings

Resentment.
Jealousy.
Sadness.
Depression.
Anger.
Annoyance.
Remorse.
Shame.
Sorrow.
Terror.
Worry.

These are all things we get to experience and feel from time to time. Most--well, all--of the feelings listed above emotions seem to cut deep within me as I feel them, leaving a mark on my brittle bones. Making their impression upon my person. Sometimes these feelings make me want to rip my own heart out, and light it afire, or stomp on the fragile organ until it finally can't feel anything else. In these times, when I am feeling the bitter feelings no one wants to feel, I think being emotionless would be a gift. Like, in my head, it sounds better to be a robot than to to succumb to the drastic, overbearing, seemingly stupid things that are emotions. But come to think of it, without these bitter emotions, where would we be? Happy can't exist without sad, right? Or else the change wouldn't be significant. Terror cannot exist without courage, just as anger cannot exist without love. Maybe this is what makes us human. What we feel differentiates us from other living things. We are burdened with these emotions, but in a way, we are enlightened by them.
So, it's okay to feel these bitter feelings. Because without them, we would be nothing.

Six Word Stories [#4]

.

via

He walked away from me.
Again.

 photo rect3790_zps32b28a26.png

I'm not idling anymore.

"I've never told you this, but sometimes, I imagine wrapping my arms around you, and pulling you into a world of our own."

"You're such a child. Your imagination is...over used."

"Better over used, than not used at all, right?"

* * *

Guys, I don't want to wait anymore. I'm sick of waiting. Nothing happens when you wait. The only thing you can do to bide the time is let boredom encompass you like the great waters of a massive ocean. It'll drown you, tugging you away from the shoreline, and there's nothing to do except sink.

But I'm going to change that. No more boredom for me. I overheard my mother the other day, talking to my dad, and she said something like; "If you care enough about yourself, make the efforts to take at least one step toward your goals."

So that's what I'm going to do.

It's going to take some time, I presume. But I won't be in the idle waiting stage. I'm building my boat, to cross the oceans. I'm preparing to take on the journey of a lifetime.

But where am I going? And how am I going to get there? All I know is, I want to be out there. Doing something. Making something. Writing something. Helping someone. I want to conquer fears and build myself up into the person I want to be. I want to learn who I am.

The photo is via pinterest, but I added the text. >.<

So, I'm taking the first step. I'm choosing my path. I'm not idling anymore.

Are you idle anymore?

#ForeberAlone

So I guess yesterday was Valentine's Day.

And kinda, sorta I forgot about it.

Shocker, I know.

Lately, I've been so...behind. But ahead. I think I'm in the midst of a procrastinating phase. I tell myself: Oh, you'll have time to write later. Oh, you'll have time to prepare a blog post later. Oh, you can reply to that email later.

And the next thing I know, it's February 14th and the only that I'vegotten  done is school work. #Ick

Alright, back on topic. So yesterday was Valentine's Day and as I said before, I was utterly unprepared. I even woke up late. -_- But even though I forgot, and even though I'm in a procrastinating phase, I wanted to tell you guys/give you something.

And here it is:

made by me. do not steal please. <3

And now that I'v buttered you all up, I'd like everyone to know that once I get 100 followers I may (or may not) be having a giveaway. I'm not sure, but I'd like to. :} You guys need to be rewarded. ;)

Mkay, that's all for now. Thanks for reading! <3

The (long awaited) Sunshine Award

"for bloggers who positively and creatively inspire others in the blogosphere."

Thank you:

Les from Beaute Imparfait,
Sarah from My Randomness and Ramblings,
Lila from Creative Thinking,
Cindy from Eat. Sleep. Read. Fangirl. and
Morgan from Fangirl Moments for awarding me! I very much appreciate it. :)

The rules are:

1. Thank the blogger that nominated her and link to her blog
2. Nominate other bloggers and let them know on their blogs
3. Answer a list of ten questions
4. The Sunshine Award button must be posted on the blog

The Ten Questions (you can either answer these questions or make up your own 10 questions and answer those):

1. what is your favorite Scripture verse?

Hmm... I don't really know. John 3:16, maybe?

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. - John 3:16

2. would you sacrifice your life if it would save that of a stranger's?

Erm...would I be a bad person if I said no?

3. given a chance to swim with dolphins . . . would you accept?

Maybe. I don't know.

4. are you more "fascinated" by the light or by the darkness; why?

*clicks flashlight on and angles it under chin* Darkness... Because it's all dark and...spooky.

5. can you speak with a different accent?

YES. 'Ello mate. <-- See?

6. do you play an instrument?

I used to play the piano...

7. has the ocean ever filled your dreams?

I've never even like, seen an ocean, except for in photos, so...no.

8. presuming you own one, how often is your journal put to use?

I own a lot of incomplete journals. I only write in them when something majorly drastic happens.

9. why on earth (pun intended) would anyone wish to rule the world?

I don't know. We humans are rather...fascinating in our own ways, no? The world is a massive planet and if you plan on ruling it, you're going to have to have a plan on how you're going to communicate with everyone. Or even rule. And there's also the problem of actually getting into the official, designated spot called "Ruler of Earth".

10. what is your favorite hymn?

I am sorry to inform you that I do not have one.

I nominate:

Whoever hasn't done this yet. >.<

How To Make Your Photos Fade on Hover

1. Log into your blogger account and select the blog in which you'd like to customize.
2. Go to Template >> Customize >> Add CSS and paste the below code into the box.
3. Save your changes and voila!

img {

opacity: 1.0;transition: opacity 1s ease-in-out;-moz-transition: opacity 1s ease-in-out;-webkit-transition: opacity 1s ease-in-out;}

a:hover img {opacity: .6;transition: opacity 1s ease-in-out;-moz-transition: opacity 1s ease-in-out;-webkit-transition: opacity 1s ease-in-out;}

Note #1: To change the transparency of your fade, lower or raise the underlined number in the code. You can only change it between the numbers ".9" and ".1". So, to make your picture very transparent, change the number to .2 or .1. Or to make your photo fade just slightly, change it to .8 or .9.

Note #2: I've update the code so that the opacity transition is slower - enjoy! :)

Have a question? Did you try this? Leave a comment below! I can't wait to hear from you! :)

thanks for reading. <3

Expanse

//

via

1. an area of something, typically land or sea, presenting a wide continuous surface.
"the green expanse of the forest"

There's a space between you and I.
A great expanse.
An apocalyptic road.
If I choose to take this path,
I'll be striding, chin held high,
to my own destruction.

But you're worth it.

I'd cross through lands and swim through seas for you.
Just so the expanse between could close,
and we'd be together.
Again.

Lemons?

lemon yellow and slate

Mmm... Lemons. Just one of those random fruits, yah know?

Is there anything more refreshing? Try them in our Greek Lemon Vinaigrette to top off our Spicy Greek salad. Delightful! Lemons have many uses in the home. Here are a few: To freshen the air in your home, simmer a few sliced lemons in water for a few hours, adding more water when necessary. To whiten your whites: add ½ c. to your small load of laundry & let soak for a few minutes before letting it agitate. The acidic component of lemon helps to kill molds, bacteria & germs from cutting boards & counter tops, soap scum in your bathroom tub or shower stall. Soap is alkaline & acidic lemon will cut through it all.

It's like, they're so beautiful and bright and welcoming on the outside but as soon as you try to gobble up their insides...

Today is the day of lemon! Discover some recipes like Lemon cheesecake and more others This lemon, ginger and basil detox iced tea will leave you feeling refreshed, hydrated and energized… Lemon Bar Cheesecake | Rich cheesecake with layers of tart lemon curd | http://thatskinnychickcanbake.com Lemon meringue cupcakes with a lemon curd center ! A little more challenging but absolutely worth it ! I made lemon curd in the microwave it literally took 5 minutes ! Also I didn't have a kitchen torch so I put the oven on broil and popped the frosted cupcakes in for 5-10 seconds ! Worked like a charm. Cupcakes, homemade, lemon meringue, interesting desserts

You get not so nicely attacked by their sourness.

When life gives you lemon.......give them back. Who needs more lemon aid?

Now, I'm sure all of you have heard this saying: When life hands you lemons, make lemonade.

But unless life gives you some sugar and water too, lemonade is not going to turn out too tasty. Right? Now think of it like this: When a grumpy sourpuss comes into your life (which in the saying above is represented by a lemon), make the best of the situation.

Doesn't that sound better? No symbolic situations or sour scenarios, just the truth of the saying. Its meaning it out in the open. Makes life so much more simplistic, does it not?
